A Message from the Community Manager

Hi All, it's Kelly, and I called a staff meeting this morning.... it coulda been an email but I wanted the company.

Chief was wondering when it was going to be over and Puff was hoping treats were involved.

If you have found the posts and resources in these newsletters helpful, I've compiled all of the past features on the building website's blog. This way, you don't have to dig through your emails to find this content.

Send me pics of your pets, WFH office or post them on social media and use the hashtags #CPvirtualhub #PetsOfCP #BeAtCP #ColumbiaPlazaCincy so we can keep in touch.

Love you, mean it :)

Some Good News

John Krasinski is back behind a desk and talking into a camera- this time, in a self produced episode of Some Good News, his new YouTube channel dedicated to, you guessed it, sharing some good news.

The show is exactly what it sounds like: Krasinski talks about a few heartwarming, good stories that people might be looking for right now while stuck at home.

There are stories about the support cities around the world have shown health care workers from their own apartments, stories about a homeowner making a delivery driver’s day by leaving gifts on the porch and a story about a man who purchased 100 lobsters in Maine to help a local fisherman.

This isn’t a big production designed to garner millions of subscribers and land top sponsorships. Krasinski is vlogging because that’s a way for him to connect with people...and spread some good news.

So far, two episodes have been "aired" and I am hoping for many more in the future! Check out the channel linked below.

The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier

This is dedication.

“I think it’s important for us to show to this country that we haven’t forgotten.”

The Army’s 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment continues to stand guard over the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, even though Arlington National Cemetery is closed.

“For us, it doesn’t matter if it’s a hurricane, or if it’s the coronavirus,” says Captain Harold Earls, “We are always here, we are always guarding.”

Running out of ideas for the kids? Here's another resource filled with activities.

GoNoodle engages children with movement and mindfulness videos created by child development and education experts- and they are free!

The activities are designed around a whole child approach benefiting kids' physical wellness, academic success and social-emotional health.

Their goal is to make screen time active time, and this was my go-to for indoor recess.

Eat Your Heart Out Cincy

Eat Your Heart Out Cincy is a collection of resources to show love and support to our restaurants, bars and hospitality workers.

On this website, you can find a link to buy a meal for a healthcare worker, purchase gift cards to local restaurants or make a donation to the virtual tip jar.

"Some of our favorite people have found themselves suddenly without an income. Being shut down for weeks or even months is a disaster for these workers and small businesses. They are an important and valued part of our daily lives. If your income is reasonably steady right now, you can help save Cincinnati’s restaurants."
