CP Community Newsletter 4.7 Tuesday, April 7A Message from the Community ManagerHey Everyone! It's Kelly, and little known fact, I never have my sunglasses when I need them. This photo is of Greg (my fiancé) and I during Friday's Front Porch Pours. You guys- what an incredible event!Over 2,000 people participated and man did it feel good to be connected. From Northside to New Jersey, Covington to Chicago and OTR to Oakland, we had a massive party of people unified by distant socializing. A huge thank you to Agar Agency for coordinating. Why did they do this? To create unity in a distanced community. To strengthen our city bond by doing the same thing, at the same time. This was more than just a city-wide virtual call in.Though we were all still distant, spread across Cincinnati (and the nation!!!), there was comfort knowing that at the same time, we all went out to our porch or deck, listened to the same playlist and toasted each other from afar with beverages crafted from the same cocktail menu. Check out more photos of people during Porch Pours and listen to the playlist for the event linked below.*if you want the drink recipes (I had the Stir Crazy), let me know and I will send you the list!**also, there is a Super Moon occurring tonight so don't forget to go outside and admire the moon!!Click here to see photos from the Front Porch Pours. EntertainmentZoom Call ParodyThis made me LOL. I was feeling a little left out because I hadn't been on a Zoom call and couldn't relate to any of the Zoom call memes... so you can imagine my excitement when I participated in my first one last week!It was exactly as I had pictured- and just like everyone joked about- all of us looking at each other in little squares like the Brady Bunch intro. So please, enjoy this Zoom call parody video and don't be mad at me if the song gets stuck in your head. All I wanna do is zoom a zoom zoom zoom in my room room!Click here to watch the video. IntrospectionThe Science of Well BeingAs we're spending more time at home and working to stay sane, you may find solace in Yale University's most attended class in history- and right now, it is available for free online!Yes, that's right, this course was a campus phenomenon with almost 1,200 students enrolled making it the most popular class in their 300 year history. The Science of Well Being course engages you in a series of challenges designed to increase your own happiness and build more productive habits.Professor Laurie Santos reveals misconceptions about happiness, annoying features of the mind that lead us to think the way we do, and the research that can help us change. I've signed up, so let me know if you want to compare notes :)Click here to access the course. CommunityCincy Card Connection3CDC launched the card connection program in an effort to alleviate some of the strain downtown Cincinnati businesses are facing. They were so successful that the $37,500 fund was depleted within 24 hours meaning $75,000 of cash was directly infused into downtown businesses. WOW!Now, there are two ways you can continue to help support downtown Cincinnati businesses: donate to the 2nd matching fund or purchase a gift card directly from the list of businesses compiled by 3CDC.Together, we will make it through this time and come out a stronger, more connected community than ever beforeClick here to donate.Click here to purchase gift card.
