A Message from the Community Manager

...is this thing on? Just checking. It's Kelly. Hi.

I am at the bottom of my barrel. I have heard that you cannot pour from an empty cup, but I am going to try anyway. Bottoms up!

Remember that Zoom call parody that was featured last week? Lol.

This week’s featured Zoom call is real and it has it all: the funny guy, the one that can’t stop sipping their coffee, the person that joins late.

But there is more to this call than meets the eye- this call is a pep talk from Simon Sinek to his team.

Have you guys heard of Simon Sinek? He’s worth about $15 million dollars and amassed his fortune as one of the highest earning motivational speakers, so if there’s ever a guy to give a pep talk, it's him.

Check it out if you too are scraping the bottom of the barrel, and hopefully this motivates you to finish this newsletter because it is FULL OF GOLD.

Talk to ya Thursday; love you, mean it.

How to Adapt to Changing Times

This is my lifeblood right now.

These are the million dollar questions I’m pondering in my $10 sweat suits (except when I get dressed up for my WFH photo shoot).

All joking aside, the world has changed and to be honest, I don’t want it to go back to the way it was.

Typing Club

I loved typing class when I was in school- computer lab was the highlight of my week.

This is a great way to allow your child to learn the art of typing and turn screen time into productive time!

As an experienced typist, I blew through the first 23 activities in less than 20 minutes so hopefully this buys you a bit more time of precious freedom before your kids come looking for their next snack.

The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck

I buried this one towards the bottom… because it is controversial... but hey, here we are, times are weird, and I’m testing the water.

You may have seen me reading this book in the hub last year. One of my professional goals was to "be ok with things not being ok" and that was really hard for me. This book helped.

I linked an article excerpt and highly recommend you read the entire book (I bet you've got the time).

If you do read it/have read the book, let me know what part spoke most to you.

*please note that if the F word offends you, I implore you to move on to the next section as Mark says it 127 times in this article and you may be triggered

Deal of the Day

Have you heard of the new lifestyle brand- Day Off Cincy? Our favorite photographer, Chris Birkmeyer, launched this project in 2019 and is using his platform to support local restaurants.

The carryout Deal of the Day is a promotion that showcases a new menu item from a different restaurant each day at a special, discounted price.

As an added bonus, if you visit any of the featured restaurants and order any item during the week they are featured, take a photo of your receipt and email it to dayoffcincy@gmail.com to be entered to win a free meal of your choice from a participating restaurant the following week!
