A Message from the Community Manager

Happy Tuesday (that's what day it is, right????) ! Kelly here, from the home office.

I'm sure you can see some changes have been made: I relocated and upgraded the work space and my coworkers have been promoted- congratulations to Chieftain and Fluffy Puff Marshmallow! They are the perfect example of how hard work and dedication pays off, such good boys.

A little bit about the pups: Chieftain aka Chief is a junior, named after my fiancé's high school nickname- he was the captain of his high school (The Indians) lacrosse team.

Fluffy Puff Marshmallow aka Puff was named after my favorite Homestar Runner video when I was in third grade, which side note, I think someone from Liberty Mutual liked as well, because, Liberty Biberty. I linked it below and let me tell you it is not as funny 20 years later but hey, check it out when you're bored.

Outdoor Field Trips

There are plenty of places around Cincinnati you can visit while still practicing social distancing.

As the weather warms (and we start going crazy in our homes), it’ll be nice to get out and enjoy the fresh air. Cincinnati and surrounding areas have tons of parks, nature preserves and urban hiking spaces to enjoy.

Check with each spot before planning a visit in case of additional closures during this time.

Learn From Home

How's the homeschooling going? Need some help?

Scholastic set up a Learn From Home website with four categories: PreK and Kindergarten, Grades 1 and 2, Grades 3-5, and Grades 6+.

Each section is already equipped with one week of content for students with 15 additional days on the way.

Each day of content is filled with exciting articles and stories, videos, and fun learning challenges. The students can even go on virtual field trips or meet best-selling authors.

The website provides up to three hours’ worth of content each day and can be completed on any device.

I was going to feature Martha Stewart's ultimate spring cleaning checklist but it included tasks like resealing grout lines, waxing furniture and polishing window and door hardware... which seemed a little much.

5 O'Clocktails

Molly Wellmann, owner of Japp's since 1897, nationally acclaimed mixologist and history buff, is hosting a virtual cocktail making class every evening at 5:00.

With her bar being closed, it has unfortunately put the entire staff out of means of employment.

Molly is a social butterfly and she was getting a little stir crazy (har har) being at home which prompted her decision to create videos making her favorite drinks to support her staff during this time of uncertainty.

Tune in every evening at 5:00 and if you feel inclined to help, follow the link in her videos to donate to the relief fund for the staff of Japp's.
