Canines for Christ

In the wake of tragedy, some of Cincinnati's furriest friends have been enlisted to lift up spirits.

After a man opened fire inside the Fifth Third Center downtown on Thursday, killing three people and injuring two, a shadow was cast over the city.

So Columbia Plaza, near to where the shooting took place, asked for help from Canines for Christ of Greater Cincinnati.

The pet therapy group brought "furry therapists" in Monday and Tuesday during work hours to help heal those feeling broken.

"It helps people reach a calm place because dogs are very giving, very loving. It makes you feel very relaxed," Steve Bader, who works with Canines for Christ, said.

The faith-based group also visits schools, hospitals, nursing homes and more.
